M/V City of Corfu Shipwreck

M/V City of Corfu (1978), former City of Piraeus, former Maid of Argyll, sank at 14.05.1997 due to fire.

Although it is registered to be wrecked at Mantouki, the wreck is lying in the sand of Nissaki area (Corfu/Greece) at a max depth of approx. 47m.

The ship was a Passenger Excursion one, built at 1953 by A. & J. Inglis Ltd., Glasgow.

General Characteristics:

Length: 161.3 ft, Breadth: 28.2 ft,  Depth: 5.8 ft,  Tonnage: 508 grt / 233 nrt.

Twin screw engine by British Polar Engines Ltd, Glasgow.

The dive performed early afternoon (25.08.2017) in very poor visibility conditions.
